Alex Cherney and The Brothers Nylon Throw the Funkiest Pool Party of the Year

Are you ready for an infectious twenty-one-track sonic extravaganza of summery and genre-bending disco brilliance? Because I must warn you, if you're not, this album may be a little too hot to handle. Courtesy of New York-based singer/songwriter Alex Cherney and Florida-based sibling duo Nick and Mike Rufolo (The Brothers Nylon), Pool Party isn't just disco revival; it's a kaleidoscopic joyride built for pure joy and movement.

"What if a record could feel like a party?" asked the album's creators. "Could it follow the arc of a summer party from the first splash to the last dance?" Answer: a resounding YES!

Featuring an eclectic lineup of guest vocalists from the world of pop, hip-hop, and soul, Pool Party was crafted entirely on a Tascam 388, an all-in-one eight-track reel-to-reel tape recorder and mixer. This course of action infuses the album with a rich and warm retro sheen, giving each tune a lived-in charm that feels timeless.

Personal favourites include the ridiculously catchy title track, the funky piece of hip-hop genius that is Heater, and the sunny, playful gem Oo wee yo!.

Let's be real here, though, there are twenty-one jams on this record, and not a single one is filler. It's a buffet of grooves ready to be devoured.
