Black Silver and DJ Obi Turn the Beat Into a Meditation on It Was Written

I had to dig deep into my archives, but I was certain I'd come across Vegas rapper Black Silver before. And then, sure enough, there it was - Magnum 88. I was reunited with one of my standout tracks from last year, and now, I was ready to sink my teeth into Black Silver's brand new offering, It Was Written.

Teaming up once again with longtime collaborator DJ Obi, Silver and the producer set about concocting a shadowy and cinematic composition. It's laidback and almost meditative, with an atmosphere so enveloping, you can’t help but be drawn right into its orbit.

A cruising anthem for the thinkers and the dreamers, It Was Written is as much a philosophical journey inward as it is a head-nodding ride. A musical reflection on fate, power, and the quiet storm of wisdom earned through struggle, Silver says, "This ain't just music - it's a mirror. You ride to it, you think to it, and if you're really listening, you evolve with it."

Serving as the second offering from Black Silver's highly anticipated winter release, An Evolved Experience, It Was Written perfectly slots into a discography brimming with thoughtful tunes. And this time, he’s not slipping past me. Black Silver stays locked in my sights.
