Celebrate the Anniversary of Aran Prog Project's Progressive Odyssey Everything Ends

Everything Ends has completely blown me away - and that's not a compliment I hand out lightly! Courtesy of Barcelona-based progressive rock outfit, Aran Prog Project, the nine-and-a-half-minute epic was actually released at the end of last year, but the band decided it was time to commemorate its first anniversary.

Described by the members as having played a "key role in defining the sonic and emotional identity of the band's evolving progressive concept," it's one of the most genre-bending pieces of brilliance I've come across in some time.

A scintillating blend of cinematic progressive metal, jazz-inspired textures, and a few electronic flourishes thrown in for good measure, Everything Ends is an aural odyssey that captivates from start to finish. It's gripping and enthralling stuff - and it's also a showcase of some of the finest musicians around.

Drawing inspiration from outfits like Vola, Dream Theater, Haken, and Pain of Salvation, Aran Prog Project are approaching the progressive genre with fresh and experimental ears. By doing so, they're crafting a sound that's fresh and exciting and uniquely forward-thinking. So yes, you guessed it, I simply cannot wait to hear what they get up to next!
