Circle of Doubt Finds Rosetta West at Their Most Mystical and Magnetic

You may recall me waxing lyrical recently about a tune called Snake 25, courtesy of Illinois-based blues-rockers Rosetta West. The gritty and uncompromising blend of psychedelic and hard rock frankly blew me away, and I've been eagerly awaiting hearing from the outfit again. Thankfully, at the end of last month, they delivered Circle of Doubt, a track I am honoured to introduce you to today.

Released to coincide with the Celtic holy day of Beltane, a fire festival that celebrates the beginning of summer and fertility, Circle of Doubt is a dark and trippy audio odyssey. Filled with hypnotic and repetitive blues guitar riffs and the mystical vocals of Joseph Demagore, it's a song that casts a shadowy spell while pulling you under. Feeling more like a ritual or a summoning than "just another new tune," Circle of Doubt is a more than worthy successor to Snake 25.

Telling a story of trying desperately to break out of a circle of doubt after being burned out in some kind of epic spiritual battle, Rosetta West's latest offering is a powerful piece of art. The band have also just released a music video to accompany the track, and it's truly worth taking the time to appreciate.
