Coconut Shy Return in Stunning Fashion With Warm and Inviting New Single Mayfield Blush

Hailing from Melbourne, Coconut Shy are an indie, alternative folk outfit who recently delivered their first single in over three years. Titled Mayfield Blush, the warm and heartfelt anthem beautifully explores the tension between wanting certainty and learning to accept reality. 

"It explores unrequited feelings, uncertainty, and the quiet process of acceptance," declares its creator, Joseph Mackey. "Catching yourself out when you entertain the flawed idea that someone owes you reciprocation."

Through intimate, indie textures, Coconut Shy turn a deeply personal experience into a sound and a story that is universally relatable. Soaring hooks, introspective moments, and an overall sense of quiet reflection come together perfectly to create a rich and absorbing listening experience.

Following Coconut Shy's evolution into a four-piece, Mayfield Blush captures a band embracing its next chapter with confidence and clarity. Drawing influence from the sounds of early Coldplay, Dire Straits, Spacey Jane, and Mumford & Sons, they're an act very much on the up and up.

The tune will form part of Coconut Shy's forthcoming debut album, recorded at Four Doors Studios, and scheduled for release later this year. It's a record I wish I could enjoy straight away, but I keep having to remind myself that good things come to those who wait!
