Cody Piper Crafts a Soul-Baring Masterpiece on New Single Leaking Me
Continuing to broaden his indie pop palette, Pittsburgh-based singer/songwriter and producer Cody Piper recently unveiled an absolute gem called Leaking Me. It's a tune that's already staking its claim as one of my top tracks of the year - wonderfully anchored by a soul-baring piano performance and sweeping orchestral textures.
Penned during a period of intense transition, Cody's latest release is a deeply personal and cinematic offering. To bring his vision to life, on top of the piano and strings, Piper layered warm synths and phasey guitars, alongside other subtle production details he sweetly labels "ear candy."
"I wrote this song at a time in my life where I was feeling overwhelmed about a lot of things," shares the musician. "The track is saying that it felt like things in my life were slipping away from where I wanted them to be…like things were leaking out of me."
Recorded and mixed in the artist's home studio, Leaking Me will form part of Cody Piper's forthcoming album. Scheduled for release later this year, it's a record I'm seriously excited to hear!
