Dystopian Party Rock? Discover The Party After’s Debut Album Dopamine Machine

After building up some solid momentum with a string of singles, Omaha-based alternative rockers The Party After have finally unleashed their debut album in the form of Dopamine Machine. It's a hard-hitter from start to finish, and showcases an outfit ready to take their sonic adventure to the next level. Let's dive in, shall we?

Blast Off gets the ball rolling in a rocking and grungy fashion, plunging the listener into a sea of heavy riffs and searing vocals courtesy of Jared William Gottberg. Intense and immersive, it's the perfect start to proceedings.

One For All then steps up to the plate, and The Party After set about delivering a powerful piece of music that, in some ways, mirrors its predecessor. It's another knockout anthem, and sets the scene for the more "radio-friendly" textures of What're You Waiting For.

Reflecting on the sounds and themes behind Dopamine Machine, the band mentions that they aimed to craft a record that embodied "dystopian party rock."

"The album's different themes of the costs of chasing fame, partying too hard, and being stuck in self-loathing reflect the intricate yet poignant lyrics that sound like they're almost from a version of Ray Bradbury if he partied too hard and played rock 'n' roll."

An absolute gem from start to finish, I simply cannot get enough of Dopamine Machine!
