Scott Yoder’s Feather Light Drifts In Like a Sunlit Daydream

Just last month, I was fortunate enough to review Scott Yoder's single Never Be Another Day. Proudly labelling it "an artful piece of synth-soaked magic,"  the deliciously moody and immersive tune is one I still return to daily.

Thinking I'd have to wait until September to hear from the Seattle-based artist again (when he releases his new album), I was caught off guard in the best possible way a few days ago when Feather Light made its way across my proverbial desk.

Sunny, honeyed, and deeply transportive, Scott's latest release, in many ways, reminds me of its predecessor. Hugely entrancing and filled with rich sonic detail, it floats along at its own pace - and with Yoder's Bowie-esque vocals filling the room - feels a bit like stepping into a hazy 70s daydream.

Penned while the musician was working on a weed farm and reading Kahlil Gibran's Broken Wings, Feather Light is described as a blend of joy and elation…love and loss. "I was swept up by his (Gibran) way with words," says Scott. "And it felt good to reinterpret some of that through music."

A true artist in every sense of the word, Scott Yoder, the self-described aloof wanderer, is someone I always look forward to hearing from!
