When Country Roads Lead Home - Grainville Train’s Michaela Finds Its Compass in Love
Grainville Train are an up-and-coming country rock act hailing from Jyväskylä in Finland. A five-piece outfit known for their melodic, Americana-inspired sound, the band recently delivered their fourth single in the form of Michaela. Written and composed by Grainville Train's founder, Esa Hautaniemi, it's a message to his youngest daughter about leaving one's roots and finding their path.
Sonically, the act's latest release fuses classic Americana with modern country production. For the first time, they've added a violin into the mix. Played by Jere Hännikkälä, it wonderfully enriches the tune with an emotional depth and subtlety that doesn't go unnoticed.
"This song was born from my love and the bittersweet feeling of letting go," says Esa. "Michaela is more than just a name - it's a symbol of courage and yearning."
A deeply personal offering that carries with it a universal story, Michaela captures a father's love with warmth and sensitivity.
Grainville Train are unquestionably a seriously talented bunch of musicians, and I get the feeling we'll be hearing a lot more from them sooner rather than later!
