Sending us into the weekend is a dreamy little tune called he spoke with conviction, and it comes courtesy of my favourite Canadian indie pop duo, Wotts! Serving as Jayem and Ricky 100's final offering of 2025, the hazy, psychedelic track draws inspiration from Australian icons like Tame Impala and Pond. Immersive, hypnotic, entrancing, genius!

Providing listeners a glimpse into the pair's forthcoming EP, COPE, he spoke with conviction blends dreamy guitars, analog synths, and warm vintage drums. Textured, layered, and oh so chewy, it's a song that captures everything I love about Wotts' sonic universe - that glowing, woozy haze that's just irresistible.

"We wanted the song to feel like you're drifting between truth and illusion," says Jayem. "Warm on the surface, but with this quiet weight underneath it all."

A tune about the lies we tell ourselves to get by, Wotts' latest release is another absolute gem that they can be proud to add to their discography. They're a duo who just deliver the goods every single time. 

And, with COPE scheduled to be unleashed on the world early next year, I get the sense they’re gearing up for something very special.
