21 Minutes Captures Saint Nick the Lesser at His Most Unflinchingly Human

It was only two months ago that I was waxing lyrical about up-and-coming California-based singer/songwriter Saint Nick the Lesser. He'd just dropped a tune called Anne-Marie, and it was a song I proudly declared as having the power to "wrap itself around you like a familiar old record". He then showed the world just how versatile his sound can be with the release of God Bless, and today it's his brand new stunner, 21 Minutes, that I'd like to introduce you to.

Serving as the fifth and final single before Saint Nick releases his debut full-length album, 21 Minutes finds its sonic inspiration in the work of Frank Turner. 

"I've always loved how he blends hopeful optimism and world-weariness amidst a background which sounds equally uplifting and tired," says the artist.

Through a unique combination of folky, poppy punk, Saint Nick's latest offering is a raw and authentic piece of music that hits all the right notes. As personal as a song can be, it sees its creator looking back on a particularly dark time in his life. Yet, even through the ache and honesty, the unwavering message of 21 Minutes is hope.
