Andrea Pizzo and The Purple Mice Redefine the Concept Album with Transhumanity

Back in June, I was fortunate enough to interview the ridiculously talented Italian collective, Andrea Pizzo and The Purple Mice. Their visionary and inventive sound instantly struck a chord with me, and I've been keeping close tabs on the outfit ever since.

Having waited patiently for the release of their new album, today I can finally declare, Transhumanity has landed, and it's every bit as bold, daring, and boundary-pushing as I had hoped.

An eleven-track concept album for the digital age, Transhumanity begins with the dreamy and hypnotic Ada. A tribute to the pioneering English mathematician and writer Ada Lovelace, it's a spellbinding introduction.

Goodbye then steps up to the plate and delivers more delicate and immersive goodness, before The Current War injects a lively spark to proceedings, charging forward with an upbeat and infectious energy.

The Ballad of Alan Mathison is a tune that will only make sense through sound, not words, while Bombshell showcases the more electronic and hard-hitting side of the act.

With six more tracks to explore, what on earth are you waiting for?

A ten out of ten record from a hugely gifted collective!
