Bad Valentines Ink Their Arrival with Masterful Debut EP Memory Tattoos

Up-and-coming Helsinki-based indie rockers Bad Valentines recently unleashed their debut EP in the form of Memory Tattoos, a quick-fired four-track offering of glamorous punky goodness I simply cannot shake. Concocting a potent brew of life, love, and melodic grit, Bad Valentines' energetic sound bursts through the doors with a confident and masterful swagger that, at times, flirts with chaos, but still lands every note with precision.

Last Days In The Sun kicks off the EP, and the outfit wastes little time immersing the listener in their hard-hitting and anthemic soundscape. A shot of adrenaline that gets the blood pumping, it sets the scene perfectly for the entrance of a gutsy and infectious banger titled Summer Ends In June.

Mariia, a tune fast-approaching 40,000 Spotify plays, is the EP's third song, and it's here that I feel Bad Valentines' core sonic identity is fully revealed. Loud, passionate, and unapologetic, it's just perfect in every way.

We conclude with Carry Me Home, a track that I’ll let you and your capable ears unpack in your own time. One thing I will mention, though, is that Memory Tattoos is quickly becoming one of my favourite discoveries of the year!
