Retro Shine, Modern Heart: Cheyanne Summer Charms with Debut EP We've Got Time
What first caught my attention about Cheyanne Summer, and in particular, her single Prom Queen, was that timeless doo-wop charm she has going on. It's not something you hear often these days, but it's a sound I've always been drawn to.
A burst of pop and country energy, Prom Queen forms part of Cheyanne's debut EP, We've Got Time. Comprised of four sugary-sweet and infectious little numbers, it's an EP that perfectly encapsulates the artist's ability to turn retro shimmer into something undeniably modern and joyfully addictive.
Hypocrite serves as the EP's second offering, and once again, Cheyanne delivers a heartfelt and breezy little bop full of life and colour. Upbeat and sunny, it flows seamlessly into the almost jazzy and big band sounds of Wrong Side of my 20's. Rich and gentle, it's a track that wonderfully showcases the musician's genre-blending prowess.
Do You Love Me? closes out We've Got Time, and it's a song I shall be leaving you to discover all for yourself. What I will say, however, is that Cheyanne Summer's debut EP is a truly special collection of tunes from a seriously talented artist.
