Benny Fisher’s London Town Is Five Minutes of Hazy, Psychedelic Perfection
You're right, here at Savoy Truffle Tunes, we usually focus on newly released material. That said, when a tune like London Town comes across your proverbial desk, release dates essentially go out the window.
Courtesy of English singer/songwriter Benny Fisher, and remixed by renowned dub producer The Mad Professor, London Town is a stunningly ambient, eclectic, and psychedelic piece of music. Accompanied by Sergio Carlini (guitar) and Luca Leprotti (bass), Benny has constructed a warm and dreamlike soundscape that instantly sucks you in and refuses to let go for its entire five minutes.
With strong hints of David Bowie, subtle notes of The Psychedelic Furs, and even whispers of Pink Floyd, London Town is a slow-burning and blurry track. It's moody and spacious and hugely hypnotic.
Speaking of his admiration for The Mad Professor, Benny says he loves the producer's approach, because "it's all about instinct and raw talent." He goes on to mention that "you're never quite sure what's going to happen next," and that sentiment is beautifully showcased on London Town.
Accompanying the song is a rich music video, created by the award-winning filmmaker Peter Spence. It's a perfect match for the tune, and we are proud to share it with you today!
