Big Ideas and Bigger Riffs Fuel Spectral Twist’s Two-Track EP The Night The Numbers Died

From the creative mind that brought you Dead Skin Project comes another side venture called Spectral Twist, an endeavour built on creative freedom and the simple joy of making music.

Now, first things first, I must apologise for being a little late to the Spectral Twist party. That said, it's not like its creator gave me much time. After all, they've already delivered two full-length records this year!

The Night The Numbers Died is the brand new Spectral Twist offering - a two-track EP that serves as the opening chapter of a much larger story. Forming part of what will eventually become The Ghost Algorithm album, the two songs mark the beginning of an ambitious storytelling journey - but it's the quality of the music that really brings the whole idea to life.

The title track gets things underway in a rocky, upbeat, and anthemic fashion. Filled with quirky guitar riffs and an infectious energy, it imagines a world where a computer has eliminated money and left manual labour as the only remaining currency.

Formerly Wealthy Support Group follows in a similar thematic vein, taking a humorous look at the rich learning to live without privilege. Through a dark and gritty soundscape, it's every bit as engaging as its predecessor - and rounds off an EP (and a concept) that I've fallen completely in love with!
