Cody Piper’s Revealed: A Sophisticated, Charming, and Unforgettable Album
So, the truth is, Revealed is an album I've been desperately waiting for. Courtesy of Pittsburgh-based singer/songwriter and producer Cody Piper, the thirteen-track project has been in development since 2020. "I lost a lot of momentum during COVID," admits the artist.
Run Home kicks the record off, and it's a tune I was fortunate enough to review when it was released. A beautifully crafted piano-led gem, it contains hints of The Beatles, notes of The Beach Boys, and even a pinch of ELO and Queen shining through. The perfect start.
Be Quiet follows Run Home, and it's a song with a much more contemporary sound. Energetic and highly infectious, it's an instant earworm - and leads us wonderfully into the gentle brilliance of Maybe It's Time.
Out of Time brings back that classic warmth and nostalgia so prevalent in Run Home, before Hibernating comes along and puts the listener into something of a trance for just under three minutes. Superb.
From here on out, the rest of Revealed simply continues to captivate and charm.
I must also give a special shout-out to Leaking Me, track ten on the album. It began my love affair with Cody Piper's work, and I'm proud to call myself a true fan of everything he’s creating.
