Dark November Shows Chloe Dunn’s Gift for Crafting Subtle, Soul-Stirring Compositions

It wasn't long ago that I was waxing lyrical about French-based multi-instrumentalist and composer Chloe Dunn. In fact, I've been championing her sound for some time now. From last year's debut EP, Blossom, to her stirring single Aphrodite Leaves, Chloe's visionary music has embedded itself in the quieter parts of my days.

Known for her immersive and delicate compositions, she's a true artist in every sense of the word - and that's why today, I couldn't be more proud to share her latest offering, Dark November, with you. Let's dive in, shall we?

Inspired by John Fowles' novel The French Lieutenant’s Woman, Dark November explores the character of Sarah Woodruff, the book's enigmatic protagonist. Infusing the piece with her own childhood memories of Dorset (where the novel is set), Chloe's lush and earthy new release leans into subtlety. Slowly revealing its depth through soft, carefully placed moments, it's a truly magical little song that feels mystical…Dare I say… otherworldly?

Featuring a velvety cello, a foreboding viola, and even a sensitively employed Orchid synthesiser, Dark November is a beautiful example of just what Chloe Dunn is all about. Her soaring vocal performance proves, once again, that she knows how to lead with emotion, invite you into her sonic world, and hold you there with effortless grace. Pure, powerful, and deeply profound!
