Ava Valianti is a sixteen-year-old singer/songwriter from Massachusetts, and over the past few months, I've fallen completely in love with her music and all-around artistry. Distant was my entry point: a bright and sunny little indie-pop gem. Then came Hot Mess and the rest of her debut EP, petunias. From that moment on, I was sold, and have followed Ava's every sonic move since.

The Conversation is the musician's brand new single, and has been described as one of her most "emotionally nuanced songs yet." Fact check: True! 

A gentle and devastatingly beautiful tune, The Conversation shimmers with dream-pop sensibilities. As she pairs atmospheric textures with emotionally-driven vocals and an unexpected yet stunning saxophone flourish, Ava tells a story of emotional conflict, honesty, and the weight of walking away.

"The Conversation is about knowing the truth before you're ready to say it out loud," explains Ava. "It's about caring about someone enough not to want to hurt them, but not enough to stay, and the guilt that comes with that."

A track that knows when to hold back just as much as when to let go, Ava's latest offering could be her most compelling release to date. Now, I know that's a pretty bold statement to make, but I truly feel like she's really outdone herself on this one!
