Gravité Fresq Have No Interest in Playing It Safe on New Dance-Punk Single Nail The Noise
Earlier this year, a barely two-minute neon-soaked gem called Placebo Thrill entered my sonic universe. Courtesy of an anonymous Dublin-based outfit called Gravité Fresq, it was the beginning of a journey that quickly turned me into a fan - and I found myself eagerly awaiting any new material.
Four singles have since followed Placebo Thrill, and each one is more than worthy of your time. Their latest offering, however, is the one I'd like to shine a light on. Introducing Nail The Noise!
A high-octane dose of dance-punk, Gravité Fresq's new tune, to be perfectly blunt, is too much of a deliciously eclectic blend of sounds and styles to be labelled. Propelled by a blistering 130+ BPM pulse and infused with fiery electro-rock elements, the energy contained in Nail The Noise makes sitting still while it's playing basically impossible.
Exploring algorithmic fatigue and modern absurdity, Gravité Fresq explain that their latest release is about "refusing performative despair and getting your hands dirty instead."
Believing firmly that making something solid with actual tools is about as sane as rebellion gets these days, the outfit have no interest in playing it safe. That's what we love around these parts. And as long as they're keeping it real, Gravité Fresq will always have a place on our pages!
