Hypnotic and Sun-Streaked, LunaRover’s Fountains Melts Like a Mirage in Motion

Fountains is one of those songs you just melt into. It's dreamy and layered and wonderfully chewy. Courtesy of longtime collaborators Kevin Rieth and Ben Pelletier, better known in this case as LunaRover, the synth-filled and psychedelic offering was crafted piece by piece, all online. Sending tracks back and forth to one another, the pair allowed themselves to get experimental with sounds and textures, resulting in a fuzzy and hypnotic tune that I've unashamedly fallen completely in love with.

"We used a wide variety of instruments on this track," states Kevin. "A couple standouts are a reed organ that was purchased for $10 at a thrift store, and a real vibraphone played and recorded by Tench Tillman"

Described by a close friend of the duo as feeling like "1980s Southern California and tasting like an Orange Julius," Fountains has a carefree and feel-good aura to it. It's laced with sunshine and nostalgia, perfect for those late-night drives or any time you just need the world to feel a little more golden.

Inspired by the likes of The Beatles, Gary Numan, M83, and The War on Drugs, LunaRover is an outfit worth keeping a serious eye (and ear) on!
