Indie Warmth Meets Electronic Haze on Justin Sconza’s Single What a Beautiful Day

Justin Sconza's last album, Standards, was one of my favourite records of 2025. Embracing a raw analog warmth, the ten-track offering was my introduction to the Chicagoan singer/songwriter's sound, and ever since, I've been dying to hear from him again.

Thankfully, Justin recently returned with the follow-up to Standards by way of Fantasy, another ten-song release that I implore you to check out. Today, however, I'll be honing in on the album's opener and second single, What a Beautiful Day.

Floating between indie rock warmth and vibey electronic atmospherics, What a Beautiful Day is a pretty dreamy and intoxicating little number. Filled with warmth and a hazy serenity, there's a golden-hour ease to the tune that's simply irresistible. Synthy and chewy, it's a track that somehow feels simultaneously nostalgic yet wonderfully fresh.

Reflecting on spending a perfect day with someone you love and wishing that moment could last forever, What a Beautiful Day taps into that universal desire to…basically…freeze time.

Staying true to his analog-leaning process, Justin favours texture and feel over pure studio sheen. It's what made me fall in love with Standards, and now Fantasy

A true musician in every sense of the word, Justin Sconza has once again proved that authenticity will always win!
