It Ain’t So Bad Is Dylan Forshner’s Gritty Anthem for Starting Over
Raw, gritty, and full of heart, It Ain't So Bad is the cracking new single courtesy of Canadian singer/songwriter Dylan Forshner and his band. Leaning into crunchy riffs and fuzzy melodies, it's a track that finds inspiration in acts like Nirvana, The Presidents of the United States of America, and System of a Down. Uniquely tuned to Drop C#, it carries an unmistakable thump and depth - where every chord just hits that little bit harder.
Reflecting on the meaning behind his latest release, Dylan notes that his personal experiences consistently influence his songwriting. "My music is essentially a journal, just with some extrapolation," he says. "It Ain't So Bad, specifically, is about me starting to settle in after moving to Welland last August."
A song of optimism in times of malaise and depression, Dylan's new tune showcases an artist learning to "smile" through the scars. From moving homes to getting sober and going through a difficult breakup, It Ain’t So Bad feels like witnessing a musician rediscovering his own spark. There's warmth in the distortion and honesty in the grit.
Mixed by Jay Crafton and mastered by Joseph Carra, It Ain't So Bad might take a little getting used to at first. Once you've discovered its pulse, though, there's simply no going back!
