Jaguar TV Gears Up for Debut EP With Fuzzy Rock Gem Transatlantic Ornament
Transatlantic Ornament is the wonderfully raw and hazy new single from Jaguar TV - the solo project of Philadelphia-based singer/songwriter and musician Matt Paparone. Serving as the follow-up to his debut release, Teenage Dream, Matt's latest offering is a driving piece of fuzzy indie rock that strikes the perfect balance between grit and melody. Conjuring up memories of early Interpol and hints of Pavement, nothing about the tune feels forced or overworked. It succeeds…simply by being itself.
"There's a way to read this as a song that feels like it's trying to break free from its own momentum," remarks Matt. "The melodies explore different spaces but can't seem to get too far away."
A previous member of Public Health and Northern Breaks, Matt Paparone is now gearing up for the release of Jaguar TV's debut EP, Empty My Heart. Comprising three tracks and all recorded and produced in Matt's home studio, the EP gets its title from an unpublished poem by writer Colin Schmidt. It's a fitting detail for a project built on thoughtful songwriting, and while I've already experienced the EP's first two tunes, I just cannot wait to hear its last!
