Juno Empire Plants Existential Roots on Shimmering and Hypnotic New Single Seeds
Though it was at the end of last year, I remember it like it was yesterday. A dreamy tune called Stranger found its way across my proverbial desk, and came courtesy of an Arizona-based artist and composer known as Juno Empire. Instantly labelling it as the "perfect combination of reflective, deep lyricism, and a lush, atmospheric soundscape", Stranger is still a constant on most of my playlists.
Having waited patiently to hear from Juno Empire (real name Alexander Thomas) again, I was over the moon when a sneak peek of his brand new single hit my ears pre-release. Titled Seeds, the upbeat, hypnotic, and synth-drenched track was inspired by a quote from Barbadian writer Neville Goddard. "The present moment does not recede into the past. It advances into the future to confront us, spent or invested. Not gone in that last moment, but oncoming".
Reflecting on the haunting beauty that our state of being molds each chapter of our personal timeline, Seeds is another fine example of Alexander's knack for blending existential reflection with lush and infectious soundscapes. Through shimmering synths, driving rhythms, and the artist's poetic lyricism, Juno Empire has delivered a kaleidoscopic piece of music that just hits all the right notes. Pure perfection.
