Larry Karpenko’s The Horizon Floats in Like a Signal from a Better Future

I honestly can't think of a more perfect tune to gently guide us into the weekend than The Horizon, a genre-bending piece of hypnotic brilliance courtesy of California-based artist Larry Karpenko

Experimenting with a variety of electronic elements, Larry sets about concocting a deeply intriguing and immersive tune that features the tube-driven lead of a Korg Moss synthesizer as its backbone. Evolving drum rhythms create a vibrant atmosphere, as various vocal samples float over the track like distant transmissions from outer space.

"The essence of The Horizon is life itself - how we coexist and cultivate harmony within society," says Karpenko. "It carries forward the legacy of President Lyndon Johnson's powerful address before signing the Civil Rights Bill on July 2, 1964".

Recorded at Kreation Records Studio in Southern California, and inspired by artists like Moby and Bono, Larry Karpenko's The Horizon is both a sonic meditation and a call to unity. An electronic odyssey that pulses with idealism, if you will, and I can't wait to hear what he gets up to next!
