Michael Sanders Makes the Past Feel Fresh Again With New Album fuzzer
Apart from being an exercise in efficiency, Michael Sanders' latest album fuzzer is also a thirty-minute charmer featuring heavy power pop choruses and nostalgia-laced lyricism. Released just five days ago, the ten-track record from the Texas-based singer/songwriter is a dynamic blend of 60s-infused indie rock and unapologetic pop. That said, even the "poppier" tunes on the album have a certain retro edge and feel to them. Let's dive in, shall we?
impression kicks us off with fuzz and vigour, immersing the listener in a long-lost melodic postcard from days gone by and expertly laying the groundwork for the rest of the record.
the wild then steps up to the plate, and this is where Michael unveils that more dreamy and infectious pop sound previously mentioned. Airy, textured, and hypnotic, it's an absolute gem from start to finish.
Next up is blue, a genius little song that almost straddles the lines between its two predecessors, before fever dream gently introduces itself, building slowly, reeling you in note by note.
Other personal favourites include bb plz, chutes and ladders, and the album's rocking closer, the best. You know my suggestion, though, press play from the top and surrender to the ride.
