Max MacReady Keep Building on Their Futuristic Sound with Dark New Single The Hunt

Max MacReady are a London-based duo I discovered about a year ago when they dropped their pulsing and futuristic debut single, Holding Pattern. The dynamic partnership of Max Macready and Kurt Precinct had produced a sound that instantly felt like a breath of fresh sonic air - and I've been eagerly awaiting the pair's return ever since.

To be honest, I didn't quite expect the wait to be this long, but you know what they say…you can't rush a good thing. So, with that in mind, allow me to introduce you to The Hunt, Max MacReady's sophomore track.

Like its predecessor, The Hunt is driven by pulsating synths and brooding electronic textures. With the atmosphere of a lost science fiction future, it's a tune that sounds like a chapter from a story still unfolding. And that's what I love about this duo - they don't seem to be simply making music; they're creating a world of sorts for it to "live" in.

At its core, a song about the thrill of the chase, The Hunt explores the rush, uncertainty, and tension of both pursuing and being pursued. Through elements of darkwave, synthwave, and post-punk, Max MacReady have concocted another sublime piece of music that also consolidates what is becoming their signature sound. Let's just hope the pair don't make us wait too long to hear their next creation.
