Sweet Mess Turn Up the Tension with Ominously Heavy New Single The Warning

At the beginning of this year, Sweet Mess burst onto my sonic radar with their debut single, Midnight Knows my Name. Based in Phoenix, the hard rock quartet had built their reputation as a tribute act, but when they unleashed that tune, they proved they were more than capable of making a name for themselves.

Since then, four singles have followed: Violate the Night, Let's Just Go, My Machine, and The Warning. Now, while I highly recommend you give every one of them your time and attention, today it's The Warning that's taking centre stage.

Darkly hypnotic and unhurried, the outfit's latest offering moves with a slow, ominous heaviness, giving the track a seriously menacing, sinister edge. Exploring the concept of intuition - that undeniable little voice in the back of your mind - The Warning asks a simple yet surprisingly difficult question: are we really listening to our intuitions and life's warnings?

Potent, immersive, and intensely imposing, the song's title is a nod to the Mexican rock trio of the same name - with fellow female-fronted bands like Halestorm and The Pretty Reckless also helping shape Sweet Mess' sound.

With five superb tracks already under their belt, this is a group on a mission, and I certainly wouldn't want to be the one betting against them!
