Mercy Kelly Showcase More Songwriting Brilliance on Breathe for Her
Manchester-based five-piece, Mercy Kelly, have unquestionably been one of my favourite musical finds of 2025. My journey began with their masterful indie rock gem, Speak Too Soon, which then sent me digging through their earlier material. Discovering a band that spoke to me profoundly, it's been truly incredible to witness their steady rise. And, having followed their evolution since, it’s a real honour to present their latest release to you today.
Titled Breathe for Her, Mercy Kelly's radiant new single picks up where its predecessor left off - bursting with heart, grit, and a chorus built to echo through stadium walls. Hook-laden and hugely addictive, it's a tune that showcases the outfit's growing confidence. They're just such a tight and well-oiled unit, and their interplay is as sharp as I've ever heard it.
Diving deep into themes of love, loss, and life's heavier moments, Breathe for Her could easily be Jack Marland and Adam Bridge's crowning achievement as a songwriting duo so far. It's a statement as much as a new track…a message to the world that Mercy Kelly have arrived, and they've got the goods to back it up!
Recorded at the legendary Kempston Street Studios and produced by Alex Quinn, Breathe for Her is another stellar addition to the band's catalogue.
