My Radio Finds For You Brother Looking Back to a Time When Music Mattered More
Trying to keep up with the musical output of John Dash is an exercise in futility, but trust me, I'm grateful for the challenge. As the brains behind For You Brother, John has delivered some of the most inventive music I’ve encountered in ages. From Nice Money to Father Help Us and Message, he's shown time and again that his creativity simply knows no bounds.
My Radio is John's latest offering, and just like its predecessor, Message, features his longtime collaborator Azoghn on vocals. Rooted in nostalgia and connection, it's an 80s-style rock tune that takes listeners back to simpler times, when we gathered around a radio and truly experienced the impact of certain songs.
"In a world where everything is fast and disposable, My Radio slows things down and reminds people of when music actually meant something," says John, and I couldn't agree more with his sentiment. Perhaps I'm showing my age, but I've been reflecting a lot lately on how we consume music, and in my opinion, we’ve swapped depth for immediacy.
Built to last and shaped by a desire to create something meaningful and honest, My Radio has already found a special place in my heart. It's real music with real soul and heartfelt storytelling - something I shall always value over the endless churn of disposable releases constantly being rammed down our throats.
