Nostalgia and Introspection Collide on Saint Nick the Lesser’s New Single Anne-Marie

Saint Nick the Lesser is a California-based singer/songwriter who burst onto the scene earlier this year with a debut single called Train Tracks. He then returned with Catfish Bones and, more recently, Anne-Marie. All of these tunes (and others) were recorded over the past three years, and will be included on the artist's upcoming full-length album. Recorded at Sivraj Studios in North Hollywood, Anne-Marie is the track I'd like to hone in on today. That is, if it's cool with you?

Signalling a bit of a tonal shift from Saint Nick's other releases, Anne-Marie is perhaps best placed in the alternative folk, indie rock arena. To be honest with you, though, there's so much more to this warm and nostalgia-laced gem, that it feels rude to try and label it. With hints of Americana and country-infused goodness, it's a song that effortlessly drifts through genres, wrapping itself around you like a familiar old record.

The musician's vocal performance also deserves a special shout-out, as his commanding and weathered tone adds a raw and human texture to proceedings that is inescapable.

Genuine, unguarded, and rich with emotion, Anne-Marie serves as a heartfelt letter to keep moving forward. It's just perfect from start to finish!
