Poetry Meets Punchlines on William J. Sullivan’s Blistering New Tune Good Fences Make Good Neighbors

Named after a line from the classic Robert Frost poem Mending Wall, Good Fences Make Good Neighbors is the extremely hard-hitting sophomore single from Los Angeles-based artist William J. Sullivan. An acclaimed producer, mixer, and songwriter, William teams up with noted rapper Zilla Rocca on his latest release, and to be blunt, their chemistry is instant and electric.

Hazy, distorted guitars meet live drums and a banging low end, before Zilla bursts in with a flow that's so sharp and confident. Over a crunchy and abrasive melody, the rapper tells a cautionary tale of escaping urban stress and heading for the suburbs, only to realize that baggage never really leaves.

A tune that will form part of Sullivan's upcoming album, Just Call Me Bill, Good Fences Make Good Neighbors showcases the artist's multidimensional approach to songwriting. The thing is, if you look at who William has worked with, it shouldn't come as a surprise. From Kid Cudi and Denzel Curry to Rosalia and Phoebe Bridges, the acclaimed musician has built a reputation for crafting layered and inventive soundscapes.

Just Call Me Bill can't come soon enough. Good Fences Make Good Neighbors is a genius piece of music, and I can't wait to hear more!
