Russ Lorenson and Mike Hawkes Reimagine I Love Paris as a Hypnotic Club Anthem
Russ Lorenson is a vocal jazz artist who has spent the last two decades finding new ways to honour timeless songs that came before him, while always staying true to their original spirit. Hailing from San Francisco, Russ recently released a 20th-anniversary edition of his debut album, A Little Travelin' Music - a record that included his first take on the Cole Porter classic, I Love Paris.
At this stage, I need to introduce you to UK producer Mike Hawkes. Just the other day, he and Russ teamed up to concoct an uplifting and dance-floor-primed reworking of I Love Paris. "That can't work," you say? Oh, believe me, it can!
Immersive, hypnotic, and dripping in synthy goodness, the pair's remix leans into EDM and even trance territories. Pulsing with a euphoric energy and a steady, addictive rhythm, the tune takes over your whole system - pulling you into its orbit and refusing to let go.
Set to make its official dance club debut during Paris Pride 2026, Russ and Mike's reimagined version of I Love Paris has taken me completely out of my sonic comfort zone - and I'm ever so grateful! I literally cannot stop putting the song on, whether I want to or not; it seems purely out of my control. Truly stellar stuff!
