Shortout Kid's Lamb Is a Weighty, Gritty, Distorted Step Towards His Debut Album

It has been a huge privilege of mine to cover the previous two singles released by Shortout Kid, a truly one-of-a-kind musician based in the Netherlands. First came an electrifying outburst of dark, raw noise titled Pet Song, and then the dense, mystical sounds of Toy Shop - a tune that sealed the deal for me. All in on his artistic vision, I've been eagerly awaiting his return, and about a month ago, he delivered the goods!

Lamb is Shortout Kid's latest offering - a weighty and atmospheric track laced with distortion and cold industrial grit. Imagine, if you can, a meeting of Depeche Mode and Nirvana. Or perhaps Thom Yorke and Martin Garrix. I know…it sounds like pure chaos, but it's this wild collision of styles that the artist is quickly turning into his defining sonic blueprint.

Now, if this is your first experience with Shortout Kid's work, there's something you need to know. The musician spent almost fifteen years crafting what he calls the razor belt, an instrument with the fused looks and sounds of an electric guitar and a chainsaw. See, I told you he was one-of-a-kind!

Building up to the release of his debut album, Shortout Kid has unleashed another absolute powerhouse of a track. Onward and upwards!
