Slim Loris Channel Intimacy and Nostalgia on New 80s-Infused Single Stoic
Since releasing their debut album in 2010, Stockholm-based four-piece Slim Loris have been steadily building up their indie rock catalogue. They've also seen some rather decent success along the way, with hundreds of thousands of Spotify plays.
Stoic is the outfit’s brand new single - a tune released just two weeks ago. Penned as a dedication to the band's songwriter Mattias Cederstam's father, who passed away last year, Slim Loris describe the track as "the most personal and intimate song" they've ever published.
Taking listeners back to the sweet sounds of classic, synth-heavy 80s rock anthems, Stoic is a warm, rich, and highly welcoming piece of music. It's pure and honest and features an extremely unique and intriguing middle passage that opens up the whole tune, broadening its scope and elevating its overall impact.
A testament to Slim Loris' dedication to crafting innovative and engaging music, Stoic is as much a heartfelt tribute as it is a beautifully pieced together indie rock song. Thoughtful and reflective, yet deeply resonant and admittedly pretty infectious, it's a track that sits with you. It doesn't fade into the distance, but instead, lingers in a way that only truly meaningful music can.
