STAR LIGHT STAR BRIGHT Sees Vela Jones' Dream Pop Universe Expanding

When an artist gets described as having "female Peter Gabriel energy reimagined through a futuristic, cinematic, artist world," you best believe I'm going to be paying attention! 

Vela Jones is a virtual artist known for their special blend of emotional songwriting, cinematic production, and bold, futuristic identity. Hailing from Surrey, the artist has released two official singles to date, and it's the most recent, STAR LIGHT STAR BRIGHT, that I am honoured to share with you today!

Wonderfully atmospheric and dripping in shimmering synths, Vela's latest offering is a seriously chewy slice of electronic dream pop. It's airy and light and filled with a soft, luminous energy that feels just a little…otherworldly.

Now, I suppose, to the untrained ear, STAR LIGHT STAR BRIGHT could be mistaken for just another polished pop song. The problem with that assessment, however, is that it completely misses the sophistication woven into every corner of the tune. There's highly intelligent songwriting at play here - Vela Jones' magic is that they make it appear effortless.

Exploring themes of hope, distance, and connection, Vela says the inspiration behind their new single came from "the simple act of wishing on a star." Beautiful! Just beautiful!
