Stylus Is Dave Lebental’s Flawless Ode to the Golden Age of Piano Rock

Serving as the follow-up to 2024's highly acclaimed album The Long Player, Stylus is the brand new record courtesy of veteran rock singer/songwriter Dave Lebental. Based in Los Angeles and joined by his band Karma Train, Dave's latest ten-track offering leans into classic, piano-driven melodies: think Elton John, The Beatles, and Supertramp. Overflowing with rich textures and timeless songwriting sensibilities, it's one of the most organic and charming albums you'll hear this year. Let's explore a little further, shall we?

Addition By Subtraction gets the ball rolling in an upbeat, bouncy fashion that instantly draws you in, before ushering in the more reflective and nostalgia-laced sounds of Mulberry Drive

Changing The Way I Feel is lush and timeless - one of those rare tunes that somehow feels instantly familiar, while its successor, Hopium, delivers a soulful, intimate, and emotionally-charged moment.

The genre-bending Race To The Bottom is fast becoming one of my favourite songs of the year, although I could say the same about the rocking gem that is I Can Always Count On You

The remainder of Stylus is just as strong as what's come before, and all I can do is urge you to sink your teeth into it. It's a truly special little record!
