The Sunmills Blend Funky Swagger and Alternative Rock on New Single The World Lights Up For You

Hailing from Utah, The Sunmills are a trio whose sound is rooted firmly in the golden age of 90s alternative rock. In fact, it's been said that if one blended Hendrix-style guitar riffs with the funky swagger of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, they'd land somewhere in The Sunmills' musical neighbourhood.

Last year, the outfit delivered their debut album, a brilliantly titled eight-track offering called The Art of Burning Bridges. Now, while it's a record I implore you to listen to - and its impressive streaming numbers suggest I'm far from alone in saying so - today our attention turns to The World Lights Up For You, The Sunmills' latest release. Let's get at it!

Sharp, cheeky, and seriously groovy, The World Lights Up For You is four minutes of pure rock 'n' roll escapism. Bursting with life, infectious hooks, and a beautifully carefree spirit, it's the kind of tune that wears its heart on its sleeve and its influences with pride.

Telling a tale of someone barely holding it together, until one person walks into his life and brightens up the whole world, The Sunmills' new track pairs a heartfelt narrative with an irresistible sense of optimism. There's a genuine sincerity at the song's core which elevates it far beyond being just another catchy rock tune, and if this is a sign of things to come, I can't wait to hear what the band shares next!
