Watch Me Die Inside Blend Modern Metal and Cinematic Menace on Their Cover of Fantasy Girl

Regular readers may recall an EP we featured back in July by the name of Infinity Fall III. It came courtesy of a Cyprus-based project known as Watch Me Die Inside, and the mesmerising blend of modern metal and cinematic rock made for a seriously compelling listen.

Having waited patiently to hear from WMDI again, I am now happy to report that the project has returned with a fresh offering. Delivering a potent cover of Johnny O's classic, Fantasy Girl, WMDI waste no time putting their own crunchy mark on the timeless track.

Intense, immersive, and laced with an eerie sense of darkness, WMDI's reimagining of Fantasy Girl puts a distinctly heavier spin on the original. There's a sense of menace and unease coursing through its veins. Add to that the same cinematic drama the project explored so effectively on Infinity Fall III, and what you end up with is a song (and a sound) that's beginning to feel unmistakably WMDI.

Turning a familiar declaration of desire into an intimate examination of projection, WMDI's cover of Fantasy Girl captures everything I love about a great cover. Flip it on its head, tear it down and build it back up, reveal something entirely new about it, and stamp your signature on it with pride!
