Wotts Glow and Hypnotise on Latest Single, little bug, as COPE EP Approaches
Entering 2026 in a similarly lush and dreamy fashion to how they ended last year, my favourite Canadian indie pop duo Wotts have returned with little bug, a blurry, hypnotic jewel I've (unsurprisingly) fallen instantly in love with.
Serving as the third single from the pair's forthcoming EP, COPE, little bug merges misty keys and gently warped guitars to produce a glowingly warm and seriously inviting sound. Add Jayem's entrancing vocals to the mix, and what you end up with is another effortlessly immersive tune from an outfit that can simply do no wrong!
Telling a tale of shepherding someone through all stages of life, Jayem and Ricky 100 say the essence of the song is about "loving someone enough to guide them forward, and the quiet ache of knowing you can't protect them forever."
That's another thing about this duo - beneath their hazy and transportive soundscapes, their tender, introspective storytelling also cuts straight to the heart.
Running out of superlatives to describe just how talented Wotts are, and how much their music truly means to me, it almost feels redundant to say that little bug is a perfect fit for their catalogue. Obviously, it is.
So now, we wait for COPE, impatiently, but confident that Wotts will deliver something special!
