Butch IV Turns Life’s Heaviest Burdens Into a Relentless Sonic Assault on Chapter 5: No Hope

Butch IV is the brainchild of Jeff Dambrosio, a musician less defined by roots and more by the roads he's walked and the emotional weight he carries. Pointing out that his sound is "forged in the grit of New York, the deep soul of New Orleans, and the stark reality of Baltimore," the core of Jeff's work lies in his connection to pain and tragedy.

Chapter 5: No Hope is the artist's brand new album, and the fifth in his solo career. A fourteen-track instrumental offering of highly complex and intense metal, I'm not going to lie to you - it’s a bit of a sensory ambush at first. Loud, relentless, and electrifying, the surge of riffs and rhythms pulls you from side to side.

But as you gradually fall under its spell, the record's inventiveness and melodic intelligence start to shine through. You begin to realise what a ridiculously talented guitarist Jeff truly is, and that every brutal moment in his music serves a purpose. Transforming life's heaviest burdens into cathartic, potent soundscapes, it's clear Jeff doesn't just enjoy playing music - he quite literally needs to.

Personal favourites from the album include Scourge of Suburbia, Harvesting, and Meat Glue. That said, it's undoubtedly a record that rewards listeners who absorb it in its entirety!
