Alight Finds Dogmile Glowing Between Hazy Textures and Hypnotic Guitar Lines
Alight is a tune from Dogmile's just-released debut EP, Static Retracted. It's an artful and hazy piece of rock brilliance that I simply can't get enough of - and I'm stoked to be able to introduce it to you today!
Highly immersive and ethereal, Alight pulls the listener straight into its glistening undertow and doesn’t let go. It feels both intimate and expansive, perhaps because of the gentle electronic flourishes Dogmile has so geniusly woven into the track's core. Or, perhaps, it's just that the artist has tapped into something timeless and instinctual. Whatever it is…I love it!
Complete with jangly guitars and Dogmile's golden vocals that sound like they’ve been dipped in sunlight and reverb, Alight glows with warmth and nostalgia. Effortless, entrancing, and filled with the quiet confidence of a masterful musician, it's a song you won't be able to shake long after your first listen.
Chatting about his EP, Dogmile says that the idea behind it was "to cut through the noise and pull back any external static where possible…all in search of greater clarity, but going through the muck to get there."
Already receiving praise from the likes of Henry Rollins, Dogmile appears to be an artist whose vision and craft hint at even greater things to come.
