Cody Piper’s Run Home Radiates Heartache, Hooks, and Timeless Musicality

It was only last month that I was waxing lyrical about Pittsburgh-based singer/songwriter and producer Cody Piper. He'd just delivered a tune called Leaking Me and, having mentioned at the time that it was staking a claim as one of my top tracks of the year, my conviction in that statement has only intensified. 16,000 streams on Spotify later, and I'm clearly not the only one resonating with his sound!

Run Home is Cody's brand new single, and it's another beautifully crafted piano-led anthem that tugs at the heartstrings while radiating a buoyant and infectious energy. We've got hints of The Beatles, notes of The Beach Boys, and even a pinch of ELO and Queen - all infused seamlessly into Cody's own distinctive sound.

An emotional offering that captures the raw intensity of broken trust, Cody explains that Run Home was penned from the perspective of anger and betrayal after being cheated on. "I've never had that happen to me, so it's one of the many songs I've written where I try to imagine how I would actually feel in a moment like that."

A tune that will form part of the artist's upcoming debut album, Revealed, Run Home instantly joins Leaking Me as another one of my standout tracks of the year.

I'm falling hard for Cody Piper’s artistry. There’s a magic here that just sticks.
