Better to Sleep Marks a Bold and Reflective Sonic Shift for Tony Lio

Better to Sleep is Tony Lio's latest single, and it's a tune the artist from New Jersey says "marks a new chapter" in his musical journey. Throwing himself headfirst into unfamiliar territory, Tony takes a sonic step back and delivers an emotional piece of stripped-down brilliance that sits with you long after the final note has faded.

Introspective, humble, and sincere as they come, Better to Sleep showcases an artist unafraid to follow the music instead of chasing trends or forcing a genre. That simply has to be admired in today's over-produced and algorithm-driven musical landscape.

Adding depth and an extra layer of soothing vocals to the track is Mackie June, Tony's bandmate in their side project, Mackie and Lio. Subtle yet vital, her voice brings a warmth to proceedings that fills out the sound perfectly.

"I wanted a voice that contrasted mine in just the right way," said Tony. "Mackie brought exactly the tone I imagined, and it honestly makes me excited for what we'll create together next."

Exploring themes of escapism, self-preservation, and catharsis, Better to Sleep is one of the most beautiful and delicate songs I've heard in some time. And, while I'm not too familiar (yet) with his previous work, this tune alone proves that Tony Lio's sound is worth paying attention to. An outstanding track!
