Come Out Lazarus 1 - Life Is Over Confirms Andrea Pizzo and The Purple Mice as True Art-Rock Alchemists

It wasn't long ago that I was waxing lyrical about the ridiculously talented Italian collective known as Andrea Pizzo and The Purple Mice. They'd just delivered an album called Transhumanity, and the boundary-pushing concept record was one that I found myself circling back to again and again. Now, the outfit returns with Come Out Lazarus 1 - Life Is Over, the opening chapter of what will eventually form another concept album. Let's dive in, shall we?

A cosmic and psychedelic slice of art rock, the band's latest offering keeps up their mystical and unpredictable aura. Just when you think you're in for a dreamy and gentle sonic journey, the song gets flipped on its head and transformed into a radiant and full-bodied piece of cinematic rock.

Exploring the ambiguous space where death and birth overlap, Come Out Lazarus 1 is inspired by a true story: a tragic accident during Christmas that gives way to an unexpected continuation of life.

As the tune that introduces listeners to the central idea of the act's forthcoming record, People Zero, Come Out Lazarus 1 is yet another fine example of what Andrea Pizzo and The Purple Mice are all about. Experimental, inventive, and true to themselves, they're an outfit that continues to carve out a sonic space that feels uniquely theirs. Bring on People Zero!
