2026 seems to have gotten off to a very rocky start - and I mean that in the best possible way! The first wave of hard-hitting releases has certainly made an impact around these parts, and it feels like the "heavier" artists and outfits are gearing up to flex their musical muscles all year long.

With that said, I'd like to introduce you to Bedlam1547, the recent solo project of Edinburgh-based artist Tony R Gulvin. Channelling raw energy into a smorgasbord of tasty rock stylings, Tony released Bedlam1547's debut single in the middle of last year - a crunching piece of gritty and explosive goodness called Summoning Mind.

Potent and relentless, Summoning Mind sees Tony teaming up with a ridiculously gifted lineup of musicians. From members of Dog Tired to Jamie Gilchrist of King Witch, the track rips through its short runtime with ferocious precision, as every artist throws themselves fully into the fire.

Given that his debut single mirrors the fearful and uneasy pace of modern life, it’s hard not to hear Summoning Mind as an intense reaction to everything shifting around us. "Its significance?" asks Tony. "A song for our times, perhaps."
