Carmen Rose Davidson Reminds Women to Make Sure They Know Their Worth

At the end of last year, UK-based independent artist Carmen Rose Davidson unleashed her stellar debut album, Sincerely Yours. A ten-track offering that I cannot recommend highly enough, it's a beautiful blend of bluesy, jazzy, funky, soulful goodness!

Today, however, I want to dive a little deeper into the tune's second track Make Sure, a sparkling and upbeat piece of music with a tender yet fierce message of self-worth.

Sometimes we all need reminding of our worth," says Carmen. "The song is for every woman who has ever forgotten hers - including me."

Sitting in a rare and distinctive sonic space, Make Sure is a tune that feels like a crossroads between different eras and sensibilities. Fresh yet simultaneously laced with nostalgia.

Steeped in the timeless groove of classic Motown and infused with the soulful fire of musicians like Beth Hart and Joss Stone, it's a burst of colour and energy.

Add Carmen's powerful vocals and a dark, cinematic, Lana Del Rey-esque edge to the equation, and what you get is a bold and emotive statement that truly stands out from the crowd.

An anthem that came to fruition after viewing Louis Theroux's Inside the Manosphere documentary, Make Sure is a wake-up call: remember your worth in a world that too often undervalues it.
