Cinematic Soundscapes Meet Modern Metal on Watch Me Die Inside's New EP Infinity Fall III
Most music exists to make us feel better. Infinity Fall III, however, was created to make us question why we ever wanted that in the first place. Courtesy of a Cyprus-based project known as Watch Me Die Inside, the three-track EP explores the idea that perhaps the greatest danger isn't pain: perhaps it's comfort.
A mesmerising blend of modern metal, artful, cinematic rock, and (at times) brutal intensity, Infinity Fall III accomplishes more in its less than ten minutes than some artists manage over the course of a full-length album.
Uneasy kicks things off in theatrical fashion, slowly drawing the listener in with a haunting piano motif. Capturing what the musician calls "the constant psychological tension of a mind that no longer trusts itself," the tune eventually descends into a seriously potent piece that gives off early Linkin Park vibes.
Boring turns its attention to the slow erosion of ambition: the quiet prison of routine. Haunting, dynamic, and simmering with tension, it builds with purpose before finally erupting.
The record's title track completes the EP, and this one is for you to discover all on your own. All I'll say is this: Infinity Fall III is a ridiculously impressive offering, and if this is any indication of what Watch Me Die Inside has delivered before, I have a lot of listening to do!
