Comfort in Closure: Return Of The Human’s Ain't Sad About Losing You is an Americana Gem

Dave Colquhoun and John Vincent are long-time friends and a musical writing duo who perform under the moniker Return Of The Human. Based in London, the pair recently teamed up with legendary Yes keyboardist Rick Wakeman on a deeply moving tune called Don't Believe the World which I fell completely in love with. Today, however, I'd like to introduce you to their brand new offering, Ain't Sad About Losing You. Let's dive in, shall we?

Full of warmth and soul, the Americana-infused track also contains hints of folk rock thrown into the mix. A wonderfully hearty blend of seriously lush instrumentals and Colquhoun's Springsteen-esque vocal delivery, it's a song that rolls in like a timeless road trip anthem you've always known. Comforting, familiar, and faded like an old pair of jeans.

Exploring the quiet relief of a love that has run its course, Ain't Sad About Losing You takes your typical love song and turns it on its head. It unpacks all the layers of parting ways, and moves through the full emotional landscape of love and loss.

On a mission to bring music back to being human, Dave Colquhoun and John Vincent are fast becoming two of my favourite artists. And, though this project is still fresh, their songwriting speaks with the authority of veterans.
